A BUSINESS club which helps small firms become part of the supply chains of large companies is getting ready to welcome its latest guest speaker.

Hartlepool Business Breakfast Club meets on the first Thursday of every month and will hold its next event on Thursday, December 6 at 7.30am.

Previous speakers have included Bill Scott, of Wilton Engineering; Alan Lloyd of Heerema; and Stephen Catchpole of Tees Valley Unlimited.

Next month’s speaker is JDR Cables’ director Peter Sayles who will talk about the company’s recent £30m investment in the region and how the company increased its turnover by 75 per cent this year.

He will also be explaining the supply chain requirements at JDR Cables and how local companies can get on board.

Organiser Samantha Lee, Director of PR and Events company Publicity Seekers, said: “Getting Peter along from JDR Cables is a real coup for the Hartlepool Business Breakfast Club.

“JDR is a company which has grown tremendously in recent times and is an inspiring story.

“As a small business owner myself I know how difficult it can be getting a foot in the door with big companies. I am also passionate about keeping work in the region and I think it’s great that these big companies are using this platform to try to involve local companies in the big contracts they are winning.”
