SPECSAVERS in Darlington has invested £150,000 on a new look for the store.
The branch, located in the town’s High Row, has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment programme, including new state-of-the-art technology, an extra eye-testing room and contact lens area.
It will also offer free digital retinal photography with every eye test. This allows the optometrist to take images of the back of the eye to detect diseases such as glaucoma, retina detachments and diabetic eye disease.
Gery Learmont, store director of Specsavers in Darlington, said: "Customers will benefit enormously from the refit and we are very proud to bring this investment to the store when several other opticians in the town have had to close their doors. The addition of the extra eye-testing room and contact lens area will help us provide an even more efficient and effective service for all.
"We are also delighted to be able to offer free digital retinal photography with every eye test, which is paramount in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our customers remains our number one goal."
