MORE than 50 jobs have been saved at a North-East pie maker.
Ailing Tindale and Stantom, based in Tyneside, has been sold to RDT Foods UK Ltd, by administrators PCR.
Bosses say 59 workers have kept their jobs, though 25 posts were axed last week.
Tindale and Stantom was taken over by Star Cottage Bakery in June last year, but the firm ran out of working capital and it was taken back into administration.
It was originally started by two Tyneside neighbours and once sold £14m of products a year and employed 300 staff.
The firm collapsed in November 2011 after a deal with Netto ended and continued to struggle despite a bid from Scarborough-based Arthur Harris to merge the company into his Woodhead bakery and Ugo chain of stores, which failed last year.
