A NORTH-EAST offshore recruitment firm is expecting its busiest year as it prepares to send engineering workers across the world.

Seatechs, based in Hartlepool, supplies more than 10,000 deck staff, technicians, crane operators and riggers for the oil and gas, telecom and renewable energy industries.

It will send workers to the Redcar wind farm project, the Gwynt y Mor wind farm, in North Wales, China, and the Waimea Field project, in Brazil's Campos Basin.

The firm works with North-East offshore companies including DeepOcean UK, based in Darlington and South Bank, near Middlesbrough, Modus, in Darlington, and MPI Offshore, in Stokesley, North Yorkshire.

Founded in 2007, Seatechs posted a record turnover of £8.2m last year, and Paul Cave, managing director, said he hoped it would continue its rapid ascent.

He said: “Our growth has far exceeded my expectations and I’m confident it continue into the future.

“That is down to securing new clients in a very competitive marketplace where there is such a shortage of quality and skilled personnel.

“I’m passionate about the business and I understand the job of an offshore manager having 25 years experience in the industry.”

“It is our job to find suitably qualified, skilled and experienced workers up to the demands and rigours of these demanding projects, and we do that very well.”
