A NORTH-EAST driver training firm which has helped hundreds of truckers get on the road is expanding across the UK.
Durham Tees Valley Training (DTVT), based in Darlington, has opened a branch in Worcester to provide help for drivers on using digital tachographs, recording their hours, fuel efficient driving, and health and safety guidelines.
Founded in 2010 by Robin Raine, the business delivers classroom-based courses and gives on the road tuition to drivers, who must undergo a refresher course every five years.
Mr Raine, who has held training sessions for Amec as well as councils in Darlington, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool, said the Worcester branch would be run by his uncle, John Marrow, who previously worked for Caterpillar in Africa.
He said: “All of my life has been based around trucks, either selling or servicing them.
“I spotted a gap in the market and went for it.”
