A BUILDING company and its plumbing merchants have closed, making 80 workers redundant.
Sunderland-based A Thompson and Sons' four building centres and its Taps plumbing arm were closed by administrators after they experienced poor trading results.
Administrators KPMG said 80 people will lose their jobs, with a further 20 helping to find a buyer for the businesses and their assets.
Thompsons fell into administration on Tuesday, and administrators were then called into Taps on Thursday.
