Fitz Architects, in Sunderland, will create homes on development overlooking Ramside Hall
A NORTH-EAST architect has won a contract to design luxury homes on a development overlooking one of the region's top golf courses.
Fitz Architects, based in Sunderland, will create a number of four to six-bedroom houses on land at Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club, in Carrville, County Durham.
The designs include games rooms, libraries and gyms, and the first properties could be built by Christmas.
Craig Fitzakerly, Fitz Architects' managing director, said: “All of the homes will be individually designed and set in a unique countryside setting.
“The homes we’ve created are contemporary and use traditional materials, such as natural stone, slate and brick, and give space for perfect family living.
“We’ve made the most of unique setting to maximise the fantastic views over the countryside and the rolling fairways at Ramside.”
Hotelier and entrepreneur John Adamson, who is behind the development, said he was delighted with the work.
He said: “This is an exciting venture, and the development will be an important catalyst for our expansion plans at Ramside, which includes a further 48 bedrooms for the hotel.”
