Econoplas, in Scarborough, rewarded for London Olympic Games work
A DRAINAGE firm has been rewarded for its work on one of the world's largest sporting spectacles.
Econoplas supplied recycled plastic drainage equipment for the 2012 London Olympic Games, which kept the Olympic Park dry despite last summer's inclement weather.
The company, based in Scarborough, has now given a supplier recognition licence, meaning bosses can highlight its Olympic work.
Ed Gaskarth, Econoplas executive director, said: “We are extremely proud to have been a part of London 2012, and were involved in the Games from 2008 when the park’s designers chose our product.”
The company uses waste plastic to make drainage material that is used on golf courses, sports fields, and green roofs.
