Natural Technology Developments works with Romag on Solar Angel
A TECHNOLOGY firm says it expects to achieve £8m sales in just three years after being boosted by a solar deal.
Natural Technology Developments (NTD) has signed a three-year agreement with solar panel maker Romag, in Leadgate, near Consett, County Durham, to make its Solar Angel product.
Bosses say the product will cut costs on existing photovoltaic and solar thermal equipment, by using a panel to generate electricity and hot water from the sun’s rays.
Paul Laidler, managing director at NTD, which is based in Ponteland, near Newcastle, said: “It's very important for us that this technology is made in the UK and we are delighted with our relationship with Romag.”
Phil Murray, Romag managing director, confirmed the firm will make the solar product at its Leadgate plant.
He said: “Solar Angel fits well with our product range and we are looking forward to working together to deliver it.”
Last month, Romag revealed it had made 200 solar panels for Championship football side Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium.
Bosses expect the 50kw system to save the club £3,000 in its first year.
