A GRAPHIC design firm is continuing to expand after receiving help from business bosses.

Red43, based in Redcar, is growing rapidly and has moved into website building, badge making and canvas print production.

It has now revealed plans to move into signage and promotional banner work.

The firm was founded four years ago by managing director Matt Stilwell, who runs the business with partner Angela Keith.

It has been backed by Redcar Enterprise Team, which helps a number of companies across Redcar and Cleveland increase turnover and win contracts.

Mr Stilwell, 47, a former truck driver, enrolled on a college course six years ago, and says the company has now invested in new badge-making machines and a printer for canvas work to increase work.

He said: “I went to Cleveland College of Art and Design and got myself a degree in graphic design.

“I was the oldest in the class but it was worth it.

“We still do graphic design, but the canvas prints have really taken off in a big way and we are also getting more requests for websites.

“The vast majority of our work comes from small businesses like ours, we understand their needs and we can work within their budgets.”

Mr Stilwell also praised the work of Redcar Enterprise Team in supporting his company's growth.

He said: “The team has been a huge help and their workshops and training courses mean I've learned more about finance, admin, tax and social media marketing.

“Too many companies fail in their first few years, but the team's business coaches help you find a way through any problems.”
