NORTH-EAST energy firms have being urged to tap into export growth in Western Australia.

UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and the British Consulate are organising a market visit to the state in February, offering companies the opportunity to meet potential customers and business partners.

The visit will take place between Monday, February 17, and Friday, February 21, and will coincide with the Australian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference.

Simon Crosby, UKTI’s lead international trade adviser, said: “Western Australia boasts an open, dynamic economy built on strong international investment and trade.

“The state’s economy has grown by four per cent per year on average over the last ten years, out-performing Australia’s growth of 3.5 per cent.

“There are significant opportunities to do business in most industry sectors, but particularly in energy, engineering and related professional services, which is a perfect match for the North-East’s expertise.”

Companies must sign up for the trip by the end of January and email enquiries@uktinortheast.org.uk for more information.
