A NORTH Yorkshire architect has designed a new £10m building for one of the county's agricultural highlights.
P+HS Architects, based in Stokesley, has worked on an exhibition hall for The Great Yorkshire Showground, in Harrogate.
Showground owners, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, say they want to replace an original hall with a modern building.
Heather Parry, deputy chief executive said: “The hall was originally constructed in the 1960s and expected to last for 20 years, so it has been a good Yorkshire investment.
“Unfortunately, it is now deteriorating, and today's visitors expect higher standards and better facilities than those of 50 years ago.
“That's why we're adding a large foyer area, a café and improved toilet facilities.”
The Great Yorkshire Show has been held in Harrogate since 1952.
