COMPANIES are being urged to look at graduates to help their businesses grow.

An event aims to show bosses the benefits of young workers and the investment needed to employ them.

The programme is organised by the Sunderland Business Network (SBN) and sponsored by the University of Sunderland.

Last year, the university helped more than 250 graduates get into local businesses under their graduate internship scheme.

Eve Richardson, university business development manager and SBN board member, said: “The university endeavours to support our small and medium-sized companies to recruit graduates, allowing them to grow and identify new markets."

The event takes place on Tuesday, April 29, at National Glass Centre, in Sunderland.
