A BUSINESSMAN who operates a homecare franchise in the region has been nominated for a national award.
Charles, has been shortlisted in the ‘Olderpreneur Franchisee’ category in the British Franchise Association (BFA) Awards. The winners will be announced during a ceremony in Birmingham on October 2.
Mr Folkes began operating the franchise in 2008 with the aim of becoming the best provider of homecare in the region.
Based from an office in Guisborough, it employs 190 staff and is an approved provider of care for both Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and North Yorkshire County Council.
Brian Smart, director general at BFA, said: “This year the finalists excel in their sectors, demonstrating business drive and ambition and showcasing the talent in franchising in the UK.”
