AN energy contractor has secured a major deal with National Grid.

Fastflow Energy Services (FES) says it is one of only five contractors to win a place on the grid’s five-year asset framework.

The company is part of the Fastflow Group, which has headquarters in Washington, Wearside, and had already been selected by National Grid to carry out upgrades and diversions on gas services and security improvements on gas and electricity sites.

Neil Armstrong, Fastflow Group owner and chief executive, said: “This is great news for our business which, within two years of launching, has grown to exceed a £10m turnover and employ more than 100 people.

The Fastflow Group also includes Washington-based Pipeline Services, which specialises in services for Northumbrian Water, Scottish Water and Anglian Water, and property maintenance operation DW Support Services.
