A NORTH-EAST life sciences company has seen two senior figures quit their roles.

Patrik Dahlen, chief executive at Immunodiagnostic Systems (IDS), in Boldon, near Sunderland, is resigning for professional reasons.

The company, which develops medical test kits and specialist instruments for clinical research, said Mr Dahlen will remain in his post for up to a year.

The announcement was made just hours before non-executive chairman Dr Anthony Martin revealed he is also standing down from IDS’ board with immediate effect.

In further changes, Dr Burkhard Wittek, 60, has been appointed as non-executive chairman, with 24-year-old Till Bengt Campe welcomed as a non-executive director.

The moves were confirmed on the same day IDS revealed its half-year results for the six months up to September 30.

It said revenues reached £22.1m, with net cash flow from operations standing at £5m.
