SUNDERLAND AFC have made a new US signing.

The Black Cats have agreed a partnership with Molson Coors, which will see the Carling lager maker become an official partner from summer 2015.

Bosses say Molson will supply drinks throughout the Stadium of Light, in concourse bars, hospitality rooms and events suites.

The five-year agreement also includes 1879 Events Management, the football club’s growing external events division.

As part of the deal, the Stadium of Light’s North Stand will be renamed the Carling North Stand.

Gary Hutchinson, Sunderland AFC’s commercial director, said: “We are committed to providing our fans and customers with the best possible products and services.

“By partnering with Molson Coors, who are an internationally recognised and respected leader in their field, we can ensure that we are doing just that.”

Eugene Reddington, Molson’s regional sales managing director, added: “We are absolutely delighted to have become the official beer partner of Sunderland AFC and look forward to a long and successful relationship.”

The deal comes after Sunderland’s rival Newcastle United revealed a contract extension with Molson to extend its stay at St James’ Park to 12 years.
