ABOUT 35 jobs are being created in the region with the opening of a nursery.
Clever Clogs will launch in April on the Belmont Industrial Estate, Durham, to provide day care for up to 72 children aged between six weeks and five years.
Nursery owner Andrea Townsley has secured a £115,000 investment from Evolve Finance, a division of NEL Fund Managers Ltd, to purchase equipment, toys and computers.
Ms Townsley said: "Setting up my own nursery has always been something I have felt very passionately about and my dream is finally coming true."
In time, she hopes to operate a holiday and out-of-school club for children aged between five and 11.
