BOSSES at a £6.6m business hub have added to their team as they bid to support more companies.

Business Central Darlington has welcomed Margaret Binns and Ian Frostwick.

Ms Binns joins as services executive, with Mr Frostwick recruited as an operations support assistant.

Ms Binns said: “In the past I have been a property lawyer, as well as having many years in other business centres.

“The opportunity to join a progressive company and be a part of an exciting new building was too good to pass up.”

Mr Frostwick added: “It is exciting to be a part of a new facility, and I’m looking forward to watching businesses’ journey here.”

Business Central, which opened last month, offers space for up to 60 firms, and officials previously revealed plans to support the creation of at least 25 new businesses and more than 300 jobs over a 15-year period.

Spearheaded by North-East Business Innovation Centre (BIC), it will focus on nurturing established and start-up firms, with specific focus on the digital, biologics and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The project has been backed with funding from the European Regional Development Fund and the Homes and Communities Agency.

BIC will work with Tedco Business Support to offer advice and guidance, mirroring existing facilities it has on the banks of Sunderland’s River Wear.

Business Central’s tenants include Northstar Ventures, which invests in ambitious North-East small and medium-sized companies, and PR firm Harvey and Hugo.
