Dragons ‘fall out’ over article

DRAGONS’ Den stars Duncan Bannatyne and James Caan appear to have fallen out after the Scottish tycoon wrote a newspaper article about his rival.

Mr Bannatyne, who runs his multi-million pound health and leisure empire from Darlington, made allegations about his fellow Dragon in The Daily Telegraph.

Mr Caan angrily denied the claims. Last night, lawyers working on his behalf asked the paper to correct details.

It comes as Caan muscles into Bannatyne’s health club territory, with plans to open a series of fitness and leisure premises across the country.

Bannatyne, whose business empire includes 60 health clubs bearing his name, said: “It’s just as well James and I get on so well, and there couldn’t be a nicer man to be in competition with.”

Warnings were also issued to media outlets not to repeat the allegations.

The statement said: “Mr Caan’s lawyers have written to The Daily Telegraph pointing out the inaccuracies in the articles and asking that a correction be made.”
