A COUNTY Durham food firm has secured overseas investment to support its expansion in the diet and nutrition sector.
Consett-based Tanfield Food Company, the brainchild of entrepreneur Roger McKechnie, has received £700,000 from Swiss venture capitalists Inventages. Law firm Muckle LLP, which has been working with Tanfield since its inception in 2004, helped to complete the latest deal.
Peter Robinson, partner in commercial services at Muckle LLP, said: “We have worked closely with Tanfield throughout its evolution, from a small business start-up to a prestigious success story for the region, and have provided a range of legal support to the firm over the years.
We hope the funding helps the company continue its exciting growth plans.”
Tanfield employs 125 workers and supplies many of the UK’s biggest supermarket chains.
