A NORTH-EAST design firm has played an integral role in preparing science for sale across the world.

Pulse Creative Marketing, which previously produced promotional material such as folders, posters and stationery for Sunderland pharmacutical company SensaPharm, was called in when the company needed secure packaging for an anti-malarial drug testing kit.

The boxes were required to hold several vials containing a compound that would be transported to pharmaceutical companies, in order to assess the purity of the drugs in countries such as India, Africa, Korea and China.

Paul Finch, marketing manager at Sunderlandbased Pulse Creative Marketing, said: “It is not the run-ofthe- mill type of stuff we do and it was a nice one for us to be involved with.”

Having also worked on a previous packaging project for the company, Mr Finch was hopeful it could be the start of a new market for the firm.

SensaPharm founder Dr Neil Sullivan said: “It was important for us to develop a cost-effective packaging solution to enable the safe transportation of the kits.

“The compound we have developed will detect any impurities in anti-malarial drugs worldwide, which essentially will improve antimalaria care for millions of people.

“Having previously used the services of Pulse to design boxes for some of our other testing kits, I knew they would be able to provide us with a solution to send our kits out knowing they will arrive in perfect condition.”
