Rapidly expanding firm doubles staff in three months
A DESIGN and project management company has doubled its office space after recruiting 30 new staff members over the past three months.
Teesside-based Nortech Solutions, which provides services to the engineering sector, now occupies an additional 6,000sq ft at Wynyard Park, in Stockton, following staff expansion after a series of contract wins.
The group has gone from strength to strength after being established in April last year by engineer Bryan Bunn, who has substantial experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, nuclear, iron and steel sectors.
The firm, which now employs 65 members of staff, serves the process, offshore, onshore oil and gas, steel and iron industries.
The company's expansion follows a multi-million pound contract win with EnQuest in July.
Nortech is now working with EnQuest on a number of process simplification projects to extend the operating life of the Thistle Alpha platform, which is located north of Aberdeen, by a further 15 years.
The EnQuest contract comes alongside other wins, including Jersey Gas Co Ltd, located in the Channel Islands and an international steel manufacturing client.
Mr Bunn, founder and managing director, said: "We have phased recruitment over the last quarter and have now also acquired an additional 3,000sq feet of office space to serve the demands of our growing business.
"It was the right time to devote extra resources to cope with the demand both in the UK and internationally for our services. We're very proud of our achievements and are looking forward to further building on our reputation in this expanding market."
