TEENAGERS were given the chance to take their business ideas to the market, in a pilot project aimed at encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs.
Students from Moorside Technology College, in Consett, set up a mobile office in Millennium Place, Durham City, to test out their ideas, as part of the Learn the Business scheme.
Newcastle-based financial co-operative Shared Interest had challenged the youngsters to come up with business ideas to manufacture products using only what was available in their college.
They responded with an iPhone stand, clocks and an Easter egg holder, which they tested out with public opinion.
Teacher Jim Green said: “We have had a great response from the students who have had to be creative to come up with viable business models.
“Their market research is part of this project, allowing them to test out their product ideas on the public.”
The mobile office was at Launch Pad, a mobile workspace for schools and colleges.
The students will now present their ideas in a Dragon’s Den-style event.
