THE Killers thrilled a sell-out audience at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle with some cracking tunes. The evening opened with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, who took the opportunity to introduce the crowd to songs from their new album, Baby 81. It was perhaps appropriate that they should open the evening as they were one of the biggest influences for The Killers in their early days. Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers played tribute to BRMB, describing how they had followed them closely before they themselves were signed up.

The main act opened with a vibrant explosion of light and sounds and the band pleased a receptive audience with an enjoyable mix of songs. There were favourite hits such as Mr Brightside and songs from their recently-released album, Single Bones. Flowers was a true entertainer as he interacted with the crowd, showing a deep passion for the music. The lighting and stage show gave a feeling of a true theatrical performance, adding to the effect of the concept album, Sam's Town. The show flowed perfectly from start to finish with breathtaking performances from the bands and flawless sound quality. The final song, Enterlude, left the crowd screaming for more.
