TALENTED youngsters entertained shoppers in Darlington town centre with singing and dancing.

A buskathon was organised on Saturday afternoon by Darlington Borough Council’s Youth Service.

Users of the youth service were invited to come along and take part in the event, which was held to launch the service’s new summer programme.

It also coincided with the release of a new guide for buskers in the town centre.

Joanne Shutt, the council’s Youth Offer coordinator, said: “It’s been really, really well received.

“It was amazing how many people stopped and stayed watching for the whole time.

“The young people really loved it and are already asking when the next one’s going to be.”
