DUNELM Homes is providing ‘egg-cellent’ support to a local charity with the launch of its Easter egg appeal at developments across the region.

The company is encouraging visitors to its developments in Stanley, Langley Moor, Ingleby Barwick, Darlington, Shildon, Spennymoor and Stockton to donate a chocolate Easter egg, all of which will be donated to the Trussell Trust Food Bank in time for the Easter weekend.

The Trussell Trust works alongside churches and communities to open new foodbanks which provide a minimum of three days worth of emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. There are currently around 400 foodbanks throughout the UK, several in County Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire.

“We are always keen to support local charities which are doing excellent work in our region,” said Colin Willetts, sales and marketing director at Dunelm Homes.

“Sometimes that’s about fundraising and at other times of the year, such as at Easter, it’s about doing something which helps those who are in a less fortunate position than ourselves.

“We are delighted to be supporting this year’s Easter egg appeal, which brings a bit of fun to our sales offices and is something that everyone can get behind. We are looking forward to collecting as many eggs as possible and encourage anyone visiting our showhomes to make sure that they bring a tasty treat with them.”

Margaret Nelson of the Trussell Trust Food Bank added: “Many people across the region find themselves in need of help for a variety of reasons – including the rising cost of living, changes to benefits or redundancy. In families where there is often not enough money to ensure they have food to eat, a chocolate egg at Easter is a real luxury they can’t afford.

Through this appeal we can give lots of people a treat and bring a smile to their faces.”

Anyone wishing to donate a chocolate egg can visit the following Dunelm Homes developments from now until Easter weekend: Middles Farm Village in Stanley, Langley Gardens at Langley Moor, Ashbrook Court in Ingleby Barwick, Middridge Vale at Shildon, West Park Grange in Darlington, Thinford Gardens in Spennymoor and Nursery Gardens at Stockton. Showhomes and sales offices are open at each development between 10am and 5pm, Thursday to Monday.

Dunelm Homes is running its Easter egg appeal in conjunction with Star Radio.
