A DURHAM City rower is
looking forward to Olympic
action in China.
Jess Eddie,
23, is part of the women's
eight crew now in Germany
for a three-week training
camp before going to
Beijing for the Games next
month.
Ms Eddie, a former
pupil of St Leonard's
Comprehensive, who
started rowing at eight and
learned with the Durham
Amateur Rowing Club, now
lives in London.
She was
part of the squad that took
a gold and two bronze
medals in the World
Championships last year.
Ms Eddie, whose parents
Nora and Stewart and twin
sister Alex will fly out to
watch her in action in
China, said: "I can't wait. It
is going to be the most
amazing games."
