Singer-songwriter Ken Mercer stages Spennymoor concert in aid of dementia care

A MUSICIAN who has worked with Art Garfunkel is to headline a concert to raise funds for dementia sufferers.

Singer-songwriter Ken Mercer, 34, who worked with Garfunkel on European and America tours, will perform at Spennymoor Town Hall on Wednesday, November 21.

The show will include his own hits plus covers of songs by artists including Robbie WIlliams and The Beatles.

It will raise money and awareness for Appleton Lodge, Spennymoor, which provides 24 hour care and sheltered housing for dementia sufferers.

Angela Donohue, Appleton Lodge manager, said:  “We are delighted that Ken has agreed to headline our fund raising event.

“We are sure that his world-renowned musical talent will create a memorable night.”
