Newton Aycliffe teacher travels to Romania for fact finding mission

A PRIMARY school teacher travelled to Romania as part of a fact finding mission studying education in the Eastern European country.

Claire Noble, deputy headteacher at Vane Road Primary School, Newton Aycliffe, visited Bucharest for a three day trip.

The tour was led by Ecorus, an independent body with Government backing, which takes teachers from across Europe on visits to other countries to view schools there.

During the Romanian the party met education officials and headed to a kindergarten, a primary school, a secondary school and a university.

Miss Noble said: “I thought it was really good and really useful to see how another countries education system works.

“I was quite surprised at how forward looking they were and it was very interesting.”
