CHARITY CONCERT: City of Durham Lions will hold a charity concert in Elvet Methodist Church, Old Elvet, Durham, on Saturday, November 10, at 6.30pm. The concert will feature Felling Male Voice Choir and Belmont Ladies Choir. Proceeds will go to the St Margaret’s Centre, for people recovering from mental illness. Tickets, priced £5, will be available at the door or can be booked by calling 0191-3849796 or 0191-373-2353.

JOHN GRUNDY: Historian and television presenter John Grundy will introduce this year’s County Durham History and Heritage Forum annual general meeting, to be held in County Hall, Durham, on Saturday, November 17, from 9.30am to 1pm. The AGM business will begin at 10am. Chris Lloyd, Deputy Editor of The Northern Echo, will give a talk on WT Stead, a renowned former editor of The Northern Echo, at 11.15am.
