A SON has followed his father into the restaurant business.

Sam Gadd has opened Tango Burger House, on Elvet Bridge, Durham, promising customers the best burgers in town.

His parents, Nigel and Deborah Gadd, own both Gadds Town House and Zen restaurant, both in Durham, and previously ran the Derwent Walk Inn, in Ebchester; the Pump House and Seven Stars Inn, both in Shincliffe; and The Stables, in Wynyard.

The 24-year-old has launched the new restaurant with Helen Inman, 28, who has worked at both Gadds Town House and Zen.

He said: “We’ve had a soft opening so far, to enable us to test out the operation of the business but the feedback has been great.

“Customers are really saying it’s the best burger they have ever had which is particularly pleasing as we spent a lot of time ensuring our dishes are appealing, of very high quality and offer real value.”
