A FIVE-MONTH-OLD miniature dachshund named Sausage has been named the cutest canine in a hospice contest.
Sausage, owned by Andrew Beetham and Sally- Beth Marshall, has won the title of Durham’s Cutest Dog, in a competion run by the city’s St Cuthbert’s Hospice, in August.
Ms Marshall, 26, from Craghead, near Stanley, said: “He was only a puppy at the contest and hadn’t been to puppy classes yet, so he was a little bit nervous to start with but he soon relaxed into it.”
The contest was staged to promote the hospice’s Paws for a Cause sponsored dog walk, and the winners won a professional photoshoot.
Anyone who took part in the walk is asked to return their sponsorship money as soon as possible. For details on how to do so, call the hospice on 0191-386- 1170.
