A PENSIONER was left with minor injuries after a robber knocked him to the ground and demanded money from him.

The 73-year-old man was walking home from the pub in Willington, County Durham, on Sunday night when he was attacked from behind.

The victim was knocked to the ground where the attacker demanded money from him.

The attacker fled empty-handed, however the victim did sustain some minor injuries during the ordeal.

The attack occurred at about 11.45pm on Sunday (Nov 4) near the Burnington Drive area of Willington.

The attacker is described as a youth in his mid to late teens, approximately 5ft 6 tall, thin build, wearing a black coat with the hood up.

Police are requesting any information in relation to this incident.
