STUDENTS at a County Durham school have been laying crosses at the foot of trees planted in memory of ex-pupils who died during conflicts.
The 59 oak trees in the grounds of Wolsingham School and Community College in Weardale were planted in memory of those killed in the First and Second World War as well as more recent conflicts.
As the name of each former pupil was read out, a current student went to a tree and placed a cross beside it during the service held at the school today (Friday, November 9).
