CHURCH DONATIONS: The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, has presented two cheques worth £2,420 each to St Leonards Hospice in York and his Youth Trust. The money come from proceeds raised when he opened Bishopthorpe Palace gardens on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. About 1,000 people attended the Party at the Palace event.

CLUB MEETING: Richmond Town Football Club is holding an extraordinary meeting to discuss future development plans for the club, which has two senior teams and 16 junior teams. The meeting will involve looking at where future fixtures are played. The meeting will take place on Thursday, November 15 at 7pm in the sports hall of Richmond School.

SCHOOL FAIR: Eppleby Fawcett CE Primary School, near Richmond, will be holding a Christmas fair on Saturday, November 17 from 2pm until 4pm at the school. There will be a tombola, raffle, cake stall and Christmas gifts. For more information ring 01325-718298.

COFFEE MORNING: Age UK North Yorkshire is holding its annual coffee morning at Northallerton Town Hall on Wednesday, November 14, 9.30am until 12.30pm. There will be a variety of stalls and bacon butties for sale. All proceeds will go towards supporting older people locally to keep well in their own homes and activities to help keep people fit and active in older age.
