A NORTH Durham theatre group were tonight (Sunday November 11) making final preparations for the staging of the popular musical Anything Goes.
South Moor Musical Theatre Group will present the production at The Lamplight Arts Centre, in Stanley, at 7pm each day, from Tuesday (November 13) to Saturday (November 17).
The musical, featuring a Cole Porter score, has just finished a successful run on Broadway. Set aboard the ocean liner the SS American, the musical tells of a series of mistaken identities involving a stowaway, a nightclub singer, an English lord, an heiress and a gangster.
With the help of the passengers and crew, they sing and dance their way across the Atlantic to songs such as I Get a Kick Out Of You, You're the Top, Friendship, Its De-lovely and Anything Goes.
Tickets are £8 on Tuesday and £10 (concessions £8) from Wednesday to Saturday. Family tickets are £30 (for two adults and two children).
