Landowners urged to join fight against rural crime

FARMERS and landowners in Darlington and the surrounding areas are being encouraged to join the fight against rural crime.

Police and farmers are encouraging other landowners and people living in rural areas to join their local Farmwatch scheme, which allows people to report incidents and suspicious behavior directly to the police to tackle rural crime.

For more information on how to join your local voluntary Farmwatch scheme, contact Durham Police on the non-emergency number, 101, and ask for Sergeant Louise Gest.

FESTIVE FAYRE: Darlington Lions Club is hosting its Christmas Craft Fayre at Blackwell Grange Hotel, in Darlington, on Sunday, November 18 from 10am until 4pm. A Meccano exhibition will be on display, as well as a craft stalls, including scarves, paintings, jewellery, cards and handbags. Entrance is £2 for adults, children go free. All proceeds will go to Darlington Multiple Sclerosis Society.
