SHED BURGLARY: Police say several items were stolen when a shed was broken into in the Moorside area of Consett on Saturday, November 10. The haul included two men's Carrera mountain bikes, one black and one silver. There were also a number of fishing rods including a black three-section sea-angling rod with bright blue line hoops, a silver reel and thick, bright yellow line. Anyone with information is asked to ring 101 and ask for police at Consett.

GET TOGETHER: Retired NHS workers are invited o a get together taking place in St Patrick’s Church Hall, in Consett, on Wednesday, November 21 at 2pm. The North West Durham branch of the NHS Retirement Fellowship meets every month for lunches, speakers and trips and is open to anyone who has retired from the service. TOOLS STOLEN: Tools including a pressure washer, chainsaw, cordless drill and angle grinder were stolen during a break-in at a house garage in Woody Close, in Delves Lane on November 6. Anyone with information is asked to ring police on the new non-emergency number 101.
