POLICE in Darlington are appealing for witnesses to an accident in which a cyclist was knocked off his bike.
The accident happened at about 7.45pm on Monday, November 19 on the roundabout at the junction between Abbey Road, Duke Street and Stanhope Road.
As the cyclist was negotiating the roundabout, he was knocked off his bike by a small silver car with a female driver. The motorist failed to stop at the scene.
The cyclist was uninjured but his grey Carrera bicycle, which had only been bought the day before, was substantially damaged.
Police are asking any witnesses to the accident, or the female driver herself, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to ring the non-emergency number on 101.
