POLICE are urging motorists to lock and remove all valuables from their cars after a series of thefts from vehicles in the Woodham area of Newton Aycliffe this week.
The thefts took place from cars parked on Wakenshaw Drive, Youens Crescent and Acle Burn between 9pm on Tuesday, November 20 and 7am the following morning.
Sgt Mark Edwards said five households had been targeted, with some experiencing thefts from more than one vehicle.
“Many of these cars were left unlocked so we would like to stress the importance of securing vehicles and keeping valuables hidden,” he said. “A mobile phone and laptop were stolen from one car.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.
