A MEMBER of Richmondshire Council for Voluntary Service has assisted Richmond Town Mayor in his annual Christmas card duties.

Sarah Quin helped mayor Stuart Parsons address more than 400 Christmas cards and Coun Parsons said: “She made a big difference.”

Town Clerk Heather Lawler is working with the Volunteer Centre manager Alison Metcalfe to put a volunteer management policy in place with the town council.

She said: “This will mean that we can offer more opportunities for volunteering at the town hall.

“Sarah has shown us that having a volunteer can have a very positive benefit.”

North Yorkshire Volunteer Centres have placed 1064 volunteers with organisations in the last 12 months.
