Wearside-based Hope 4 Kidz, which helps children and young people who are disadvantaged and with special needs is distributing thousands of pounds worth of toys to children and organisations around the region from tomorrow ( Tuesday, December 18).

The appeal is being held by Sun FM in partnership with The Bridges Sunderland and the city’s Benfield Ford.

Sun FM managing director Helen Edmondson said: “We want to express our thanks to everyone who has donated a toy which will make a child very happy this Christmas, thank you so much.”

Viv Watts of Hope 4 Kidz, said: “This is a wonderful time of year for most of us, but there are youngsters in our region that may not have Christmas presents due to unfortunate circumstances.

“It with the help of Sun FM, Benfield Ford Sunderland, The Bridges and the very generous people of Sunderland that our small charity can make a big difference to those children."
