CHRISTMAS SERVICES: ST CATHERINES CHURCH, CROOK - Christingle Service on Christmas Eve at 4pm followed by Holy Communion at 7pm. Holy Communion at 10am on Christmas Day. ST ANDREWS DAWSON STREET METHODIST/URC CHURCH - Traditional Carol Service this Sunday Dec 23 at 10.30am followed by an All Age Christingle Service at 6pm. On Christmes Eve there is worship followed by Holy Communion at 7pm. On Christmas Day there is All Age Worship at 9.30am. ST CUTHBERTS RC CHURCH, CROOK - This Thursday Dec 20 Christmas Poems, Readings and Music at 7.30pm with Seasonal Supper in the Bishop Wilkinson's Hall. Cost £3. This Sunday Dec 23 Mass at 10.30am. Christmas Eve Carols at 8pm followed by Mass at 8.30pm with mince pies and mulled wine and log fire in the Bishop Wilkinson Hall. Christmas Day, Mass at 10.30am. HOWDEN-LE-WEAR METHODIST CHAPEL have a Service this Sunday Dec 23 at 10-.30am followed by Lunch, names to Frances Ann on 01388 762083. On Christmas Eve there is a Christingle Service at 4pm with refreshments to follow. Carols will be sung in the New Victoria Centre, High St. Howden-Le-Wear this Tuesday Dec 18 at 7pm. ST PAUL'S CHURCH, HUNWICK have a Christmas Carol Service this Sunday Dec 23 at 6pm followed by mulled wine and mince pies. On Christmas Eve there is Midnight Mass and Blessing of the Crib at 11.30pm. On Christmas Day there is Mass with Carols at 10am.

LIBRARY TIMES: Crook Library will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve but will open again on Thursday and Friday Dec 27 and 28 at 9.30am before closing again on New Years Eve at 2pm. It then opens again on Wednesday Jan 2nd at 9.30am. Library times for the New Year are Monday 1.30pm-5pm, Tuesday 9.30am-7pm, Wednesday 9.30am-12.30pm, Thursday 9.30am-7pm, Friday 9.30am-5pm. Saturday 9.30am-12.30pm.

NO CALLS: At a recent Pact meeting in Howden-Le-Wear P.C.S.O. Rebecca Carey reported that there had been no calls from residents in the village relating to Anti Social Behaviour for 9 weeks. The meeting felt however that dog fouling still remained a problem. The first meeting in the New Year will be at 6.30pm on Wed Jan 9 in the village Community Centre.

COFFEE MORNING: Howden-Le-Wear Community Centre hold a Coffee Morning and Xmas Raffle this Saturday Dec 22 from 10am-12noon.
