COLLEGE students have staged a city centre art exhibition.
Undergraduates from Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD) showcased their work in a display hosted by Empty Shop, in Durham City.
The Artists Book exhibition featured ceramics, textiles and jewellery linked to arts students’ dissertations.
Tutor Alice Highet said: “The Artists Book exhibition was an opportunity for the students to use their dissertations as a starting point to visually express their ideas for their final major project.
“In just eight weeks they have researched, sketched, designed and created some striking works of art which have been extremely well received.”
Student Lou Gilmore-George, 34, from Richmond, North Yorkshire, said: “It’s been a really sharp learning curve creating an exhibition from scratch but much more of a real life experience.
“The idea behind Empty Shop is so creative and having my work exhibited in the centre of Durham is incredible.”
The exhibition has now closed.
