POLICE in Darlington were called out to a domestic dispute yesterday (Monday, December 31) following reports of a distraught woman being dragged across the road.

The incident occurred at around 1.30am on West Auckland Road at the junction with Spring Court.

A passerby saw two men shouting at the woman and trying to drag her, while she screamed and cried out in protest.

The police were called and officers arrived on the scene within five minutes.

A spokesperson from Darlington Police confirmed they had attended a domestic dispute in the Spring Court area and had spoken to the parties concerned

“Officers spoke to the woman and made sure she was ok,” he said. “She told them they had been having an argument over getting into a taxi.”
