MULTI-SPORTS enthusiasts, preferably with lungs of iron, are being urged to give triathlon a try in coming weeks.
The people of County Durham are being invited to see if they are suited to the endurance sport, mixing swimming, cycling and running, at a series of beginner triathlon taster sessions.
Under a programme launched by Triathlon England, people of all abilities are welcome to have a go, under the watchful eye of qualified coaches.
Participants can either attend as individuals or with friends to train together as a group, potentially to jointly work towards taking part in a triathlon event later in the year.
The taster events, at Freeman Quay Leisure Centre, in Freeman’s Place, Durham, are all on Saturdays and take place on January 19, February 2, February 23, March 16, and, April 13.
Sessions start at 1.30pm and finish at approximately 3.45pm.
Further information is available via Helen Tones, at helentones@gmail.com, where place bookings can also be made.
They are free of charge, but must be booked prior to the first session and applicants must complete a medical questionnaire.
