MANY years of service by North Yorkshire lifeboatman Glenn Goodberry have been officially recognised by the RNLI.
Mr Goodberry joined the service at Whitby in May 1982 and became the mechanic at the station in September 1993.
He was presented with his 30-year Long Service Medal by the RNLI’s operations manager Michael Vlasto during the station’s five-yearly review.
The charity’s coastal review team, headed by Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, husband of the Princess Royal – inspected both the all-weather Lifeboat George and Mary Webb and the inshore lifeboat OEM Stone III, during their tour of the station.
