York crime figures reveal one garage burgled every day

New crime figures have revealed an average of one garage a day is burgled in York. Safer York Partnership has revealed there have been 195 garages broken into in the last seven months, which averages out at 30 a month. A third of the buildings targeted were unlocked and in 30 per cent of reported cases, the criminals bent back the main door to get in.
POSTCODE LOTTERY THANKS: The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust has thanked people who have taken part in the People’s Postcode Lottery, as it has received more than £301,300 from the lottery charity over the years. Last year alone the trust received £76,000. The money has helped fund projects such as the conservation of wildflower hay meadows in the Yorkshire Dales and countryside management training for local young people.
