By Vicki Henderson, Darlington reporter
YOUNG people in Darlington will get the chance to air their views on issues that matter to them at a meeting with the police and crime commissioner for Durham.
Ron Hogg will attend the Darlington Children and Young People’s (CYP) Collective on Friday, January 18, between 11.30pm and 1.30pm, at Darlington College, with pupils from schools around the town planning to take part.
The CYP Collective was launched in 2011 to encourage young people get more involved in deciding priorities on matters that affect them locally.
The event on Friday will be hosted by Councillor Cyndi Hughes, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for children and young people, and will aim to set priorities for 2013/14, before Mr Hogg makes a speech.
Mr Hogg said: “I am really looking forward to Friday's meeting. Not only will this be vital to consultation on my policing priorities, but will I hope be a part of ongoing consultation with young people on policing issues, and what their police can do for them.”
